These jobs span across multiple industries, and all require different levels of education and training. They help patients with conditions that limit their ability to perform daily tasks and work in places like hospitals, nursing homes, and sports facilities. Career Growth: The BLS reports that the need for physical therapist assistants will grow 27% by 2028, which is a faster-than-average rate. This occupation will grow because healthcare needs will grow as the U.S. population ages. Pay: The average annual salary for a physical therapist assistant is estimated to be $48,090. Education Requirements: Those who want to be a physical therapist assistant must earn an associate's degree from an accredited program.
